Select a Channel
Choose which Slack channel will receive notifications:

You must be a Slack workspace admin or have permission to install apps to complete this setup.
Notification Types

Triggered when: A user submits new feedback via your public portal.Message includes:
- Feedback title and description
- Author name
- Category
- Link to view in Feedovate
New Comment
New Comment
Triggered when: Someone comments on a feedback item.Message includes:
- Comment text
- Feedback title
- Commenter name
- Link to view thread
Status Changed
Status Changed
Triggered when: A feedback item’s status changes (e.g., “Draft” → “In Progress”).Message includes:
- Feedback title
- Old status → New status
- Who made the change
- Link to view

Triggered when: A feedback item receives an upvote.Message includes:

- New vote total
- Voter name (if authenticated)
Configuring Notifications
Customize which notifications you receive to avoid Slack fatigue.Updating Notification Preferences
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Find your connected Slack workspace
- Click Configure
- Toggle each notification type on/off:
- ✅ New Feedback
- ✅ New Comment
- ✅ Status Changed
- ⬜ New Upvote
- Click Save Changes
Managing Your Integration
Viewing Integration Status
Check your Slack connection status anytime:- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Slack card shows:
- ✅ Connected workspace name
- 📢 Channel receiving notifications
- 📅 Connection date
- ⚙️ Configure button
Disconnecting Slack
Need to remove the integration?- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Find your Slack workspace
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm disconnection
- Slack notifications stop immediately
- Feedovate can no longer send messages to your workspace
- You can reconnect anytime
Testing Your Integration
Verify everything works before relying on notifications.Send a Test Notification
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Click Configure on your Slack integration
- Click Send Test Message
- Check your Slack channel for a test notification

- Integration is connected: Go to Settings → Integrations and verify status
- Notifications are enabled: Ensure the specific notification type is toggled on
- Channel exists: Make sure the Slack channel wasn’t deleted
- Feedovate app installed: Check Slack workspace apps list
- Send a test notification
- Disconnect and reconnect

What Feedovate Can Access
Feedovate’s Slack app has limited permissions:- ✅ Send messages to your selected channel
- ✅ Read basic workspace info (name, ID)
- ❌ Cannot read your Slack messages
- ❌ Cannot access private channels (unless explicitly authorized)
- ❌ Cannot read user data
Data Sent to Slack
Only public feedback data is sent:- Feedback titles and descriptions
- Author names (as shown publicly)
- Status names
- Comment text
- Private/internal feedback
- User email addresses
