Keep your team in sync by piping Feedovate activity straight into Slack. New feedback, status changes, and comments show up the moment they happen — no dashboard tab-switching required.

Why Connect Slack?

Instant Awareness

Know the moment a user submits feedback, comments, or a status changes — without polling your dashboard.

Team Alignment

Surface feedback in channels your product, engineering, and support teams already monitor.

Faster Triage

Click through from a Slack message to the feedback item and take action in seconds.

Noise Control

Choose exactly which event types reach Slack so notifications stay useful.

Connect Your Workspace

Open Integrations

In your Feedovate dashboard, go to SettingsIntegrations.

Start the OAuth Flow

Click Connect to Slack. You will be redirected to Slack’s authorization screen.

Authorize Feedovate

Sign in to your Slack workspace (if prompted), review the requested permissions, and click Allow.Feedovate requests only the permissions it needs:
  • Post messages to a channel you select
  • Read basic workspace metadata (name, icon)

Select a Channel

Pick the Slack channel that should receive notifications. Common choices:
  • #product-feedback
  • #feedback
  • #product

Confirm Connection

You are redirected back to Feedovate with a success banner. Your Slack workspace now appears under Connected Integrations.
You need permission to install apps in your Slack workspace. If you see an error, ask a workspace admin to approve the Feedovate app first.

Notification Types

Choose which events trigger a Slack message. All types are enabled by default.
EventWhat Triggers ItMessage ContentsDefault
New FeedbackA user submits feedback via the portalTitle, description, author, board, direct linkOn
Status ChangedA team member updates a feedback statusFeedback title, old → new status, who changed it, linkOn
New CommentSomeone comments on a feedback itemComment text, feedback title, commenter, thread linkOn
If your portal receives high traffic, consider disabling lower-priority events first and enabling them once your team has settled into a workflow.

Configure Notifications

Fine-tune what reaches your Slack channel.
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find your connected Slack workspace and click Configure
  3. Toggle each notification type on or off
  4. Click Save Changes
Changes take effect immediately — no reconnection needed.

Send a Test Message

Verify the integration works before relying on it.
  1. Open SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Configure on your Slack integration
  3. Click Send Test Message
  4. Check the connected Slack channel for a confirmation message
If the message does not arrive within a few seconds, see Troubleshooting below.

Disconnect Slack

Disconnecting stops all Slack notifications immediately. You can reconnect at any time.
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find your Slack workspace
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm the action
After disconnecting:
  • Notifications stop instantly
  • Historical messages in Slack are not removed
  • You can re-authorize the same workspace later
To fully remove Feedovate from your Slack workspace, also uninstall it from SlackSettings & administrationManage apps.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm the integration shows Connected under Settings → Integrations
  2. Verify notification toggles are enabled for the event type you expect
  3. Check that the target Slack channel still exists and has not been archived
  4. Send a test message — if it fails, disconnect and reconnect
Your Slack workspace may restrict who can install apps.
  • Ask a workspace admin to approve the Feedovate app
  • Or request that they grant you app installation permissions
  • Disable event types you don’t need (Settings → Integrations → Configure)
  • Use a dedicated, low-traffic channel like #feedback-alerts
  • Mute the channel in Slack during heads-down time
Disconnect and reconnect the integration, selecting the correct channel during the OAuth flow.

Privacy & Data

Feedovate sends only public feedback data to Slack:
  • Feedback titles and descriptions
  • Public author display names
  • Status labels and comment text
Never sent: user email addresses, private feedback, internal team details, or analytics data. Feedovate cannot read your Slack messages or access private channels unless you explicitly authorize a specific channel during setup.
