Your changelog is how you tell users what you shipped and why it matters.

Close the Loop

Show users their feedback led to real product changes.

Build Momentum

A consistent stream of updates signals an active, evolving product.

Reduce Support Load

Users find answers in changelog entries instead of opening tickets.

Creating a Changelog Entry

1

Open the Changelog Section

Navigate to Changelog in your dashboard sidebar and click New Changelog.
2

Write Your Entry

Add a title and description using the rich text editor — formatting, headings, lists, images, links, and more.
3

Add a Cover Image

Upload a cover image to make your entry visually compelling. Screenshots, product shots, or branded graphics all work well.
4

Apply Labels

Categorize your entry with labels like New, Improvement, Fix, or Announcement. Labels appear as colored badges and help users scan your changelog quickly.

Draft and Publish Workflow

Every changelog entry follows a clear lifecycle from draft to published.

Draft

Work in progress. Only visible to your team. Edit freely until you’re ready to publish.

Published

Live on your public changelog. Users can read it immediately.

Publishing an Entry

  1. Finish writing your entry and review the content
  2. Click Publish to make it live immediately
Save entries as drafts while you finalize screenshots or copy. Publish when you’re confident in the content.

Labels for Categorization

Labels give users an instant visual signal about the type of update.

NewGreenBrand new features and capabilities
ImprovementBlueEnhancements to existing functionality
FixRedBug fixes and resolved issues
AnnouncementPurpleCompany news, milestones, or policy changes

Showing or Hiding the Changelog

Control whether the changelog is visible on your public portal.
1

Go to Portal Settings

Navigate to SettingsGeneral in your dashboard.
2

Toggle Changelog Visibility

Enable or disable the Changelog toggle under portal sections.
When disabled, the changelog page is hidden from the public portal. Your team can still create and manage entries from the dashboard.

The Public Changelog

Your changelog is available to users at:
https://your-workspace.feedovate.com/changelog
Published entries appear in reverse chronological order. Users can browse updates and view cover images — a complete record of your product’s evolution.

Best Practices

Ship and Tell

Publish a changelog entry every time you ship something meaningful. Consistency builds trust.

Write for Your Users

Lead with the benefit, not the implementation. Say what changed and why it matters.

Use Visuals

Cover images and screenshots make entries more engaging and easier to scan.

Next Steps

Managing Feedback

Organize the feedback that drives your changelog entries.

Roadmap

Share what you’re building before it ships.

Portal Customization

Brand your changelog and portal experience.

Team Collaboration

Invite team members to help write and publish updates.
