Your public portal is the face of your feedback system. Feedovate gives you full control over its appearance, behavior, and content — so it feels like a natural extension of your product.
All portal customization is managed from SettingsPublic Portal in the admin dashboard. Changes apply immediately to your live portal.

Appearance

Control the visual identity of your portal with theme and logo settings.

Theme Selection

Choose between Light and Dark modes. Your portal adapts its entire color scheme — backgrounds, text, cards, and UI elements — to match your selection.

Custom Logo

Upload your own logo to replace the default branding in the portal header. Supports PNG, SVG, and JPEG formats.

Setting Your Theme

  1. Go to SettingsPublic Portal
  2. Find the Appearance section
  3. Select Light or Dark
  4. Your portal updates instantly
Choose the theme that matches your product. If your app uses a dark UI, your feedback portal should too — consistency builds trust.
  1. Go to SettingsPublic Portal
  2. Click the Logo upload area
  3. Select your image file
  4. Your logo appears in the portal header immediately
For best results, use a horizontal logo with a transparent background. SVG format ensures crisp rendering at any size.

Branding

Remove the “Powered by Feedovate” badge from your portal footer for a fully white-labeled experience. When enabled, your portal appears as a completely custom product with no visible connection to Feedovate.

How to Remove Branding

  1. Go to SettingsPublic Portal
  2. Find the Branding section
  3. Toggle Remove Feedovate Branding on
  4. The “Powered by Feedovate” badge disappears from your portal footer

Authentication

Control how users access and interact with your portal. Authentication mode determines the barrier to entry for feedback submission, voting, and commenting.

Authentication Modes

ModeWho Can InteractBest For
AnonymousAnyone — no sign-in requiredOpen-source workspaces, early-stage products, maximum engagement
AuthenticatedSigned-in users onlySaaS products, B2B, spam prevention

Configuring Authentication

1

Open Portal Settings

Go to SettingsPublic Portal.
2

Find Authentication

Scroll to the Authentication section.
3

Select Mode

Choose Anonymous or Authenticated based on your needs.
4

Save

Changes take effect immediately on your live portal.
Switching from Anonymous to Authenticated does not remove existing anonymous feedback. Previously submitted items and votes remain visible.

Visibility Controls

Toggle the visibility of each major section on your public portal. Show only what matters to your users — hide everything else.

Available Toggles

SectionWhat It ControlsDefault
RoadmapPublic product roadmap page✅ Visible
ChangelogProduct updates and release notes✅ Visible
BoardsBoard filter sidebar on the feedback board✅ Visible
Feedback Submission”Submit Feedback” button and form✅ Visible
CommentsComment threads on feedback items✅ Visible
VotingUpvote buttons on feedback items✅ Visible

Configuring Visibility

  1. Go to SettingsPublic Portal
  2. Find the Visibility section
  3. Toggle each section on or off independently
  4. Changes take effect immediately
Hiding the Roadmap or Changelog only removes them from the portal navigation. Your internal data is fully preserved — re-enable them at any time with no data loss.

Content Controls

Fine-tune how content flows through your portal with moderation settings and access restrictions.

Moderation

Auto-Approve Feedback

Enabled — New submissions appear on the portal immediately.Disabled — Submissions are queued for manual review before becoming public.

Auto-Approve Comments

Enabled — Comments are published instantly.Disabled — Comments require moderator approval before appearing.

Access Restrictions

Control the level of interaction allowed on your portal.
Users can browse feedback, roadmap, and changelog but cannot submit, vote, or comment. Ideal for public-facing portals where you control all input internally, or for “coming soon” and paused products.
Hides the submission form entirely. Existing feedback remains visible, but no new submissions are accepted through the portal. Your team can still create feedback from the admin dashboard.
Turns off commenting across all feedback items on the portal. Existing comments remain visible but no new comments can be posted.
Upvote buttons remain visible but are disabled. Users see a warning cursor when hovering, indicating voting is turned off. Existing vote counts are preserved and displayed.
Disabling feedback, comments, or voting on the portal does not affect admin dashboard functionality. Your team can still create feedback, comment, and manage content internally.

Add custom links to your portal footer — your website, documentation, social profiles, legal pages, or anything your users need.
1

Open Footer Settings

Go to SettingsPublic Portal and scroll to the Footer section.
2

Add a Link

Click Add Link and fill in:
  • Label: Display text (e.g., “Privacy Policy”)
  • URL: Full URL (e.g., https://yoursite.com/privacy)
3

Add More Links

Repeat for each link you want in the footer. You can add up to 10 links.
4

Save

Click Save to publish your footer links to the live portal.

Privacy Policyhttps://yourcompany.com/privacy
Terms of Servicehttps://yourcompany.com/terms
Status Pagehttps://status.yourcompany.com
Twitter / Xhttps://x.com/yourcompany
Keep your footer focused. Two to five well-chosen links are more useful than ten that compete for attention.

Subdomain

Every Feedovate workspace gets a dedicated subdomain for its public portal.

Portal URL Format

https://your-slug.feedovate.com
The subdomain slug matches your workspace’s unique identifier and is set during workspace creation.

Example

Workspace SlugPortal URL
acmehttps://acme.feedovate.com
rocketshiphttps://rocketship.feedovate.com
my-saashttps://my-saas.feedovate.com
Share this URL with your users, embed it in your app, or link to it from your marketing site.
To change your subdomain slug, update it in SettingsGeneral. Note that changing the slug breaks existing links to your old portal URL.

Best Practices

Brand Consistency

Match your portal theme and logo to your main product. Users should feel like they never left your app.

Start Open, Tighten Later

Begin with anonymous access and auto-approval. Add authentication and moderation as your community grows.

Curate Your Footer

Include only essential links. Your portal footer is prime real estate — make every link count.

Review Quarterly

Revisit portal settings as your product evolves. What made sense at launch may not fit at scale.
